Consulting Services

We’re one of the only service providers in Australia focused specifically on Duchenne, dystrophinopathies, and the wider neuromuscular community. While we are not a charity, we work closely with leading Australian charities, professionals, and organisations to improve outcomes for individuals and families living with neuromuscular conditions.

Our consulting work is grounded in lived experience and clinical expertise, and we offer services across Australia—both in-person and online. This includes training and resource development for providers and organisations Australia-wide, collaborating on service and program development with other providers including things such as Scooter Clubs & PowerChair Sport Trial Days, and working directly with schools and community groups. We also offer tailored consultation around supporting schools to plan for events such as World Duchenne Awareness Day. Where needed, we travel interstate to meet with stakeholders and support local initiatives. We have also contributed to several conferences or webinars through the years offering knowledge around DMD, dystrophinopathies, and support for families. Some of these are listed below!

  • Presented a roundtable session at the Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation 2024 National Duchenne Conference on therapeutic frameworks and psychosocial support for young people with DMD.

  • Hosted an information session for the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) on DMD and Dystrophinopathy – Effects on the Brain and Behaviour.

  • Presented at Muscular Dystrophy NSW’s Neuromuscular Information and Research Day on Education Transitions – Starting Primary and High School.

  • Delivered a community webinar for Duchenne Australia on Returning to School and Planning for the Year Ahead.
