Emergency Care
In an emergency, having the right information on hand can make all the difference. We’ve developed a free Emergency Care Card for young people living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) to help families, schools, and support staff share important care information quickly and clearly.
This large, weatherproof card can be kept in a school bag, attached to a wheelchair etc., and shared with emergency services if an ambulance is called or hospital visit is needed. It provides key guidance on respiratory care, injury and fracture management, anaesthesia risks, and steroid use—developed using current best practice.
The Emergency Care Card is available at no cost and can be ordered directly by contacting us. We encourage families to keep one close and to share copies with schools, caregivers, and other key people in their child’s support network.
